Wii/Dance Club is on every Wednesday at 3.15pm until 4pm. The children take it in turns to choose a song to dance to on Just Dance. It's a fantastic way for the children to keep fit whilst having lots of fun doing it! Come and join us!
Please contact the school office if your son or daughter would like to join us.
Every lunch time one child from each form has the opportunity to attend our sensory club. The club offers a place to be calm and explore the sensory items we have available in school. These resources are regularly changed and children always have a fun time!
Here are some of the pupils using our sensory equipment
Duke Of Edinburgh
We are pleased to announce that 10 of our current year 11 pupils have recently completed the Expedition Element of their Bronze Duke of Edinburgh Award. This included a full day’s walking followed by an overnight camp on our school field and then a half day of walking the morning after. They were assessed on a total of 20 requirements during the expedition and all passed with flying colours. They are very close to gaining the full award with just one or two students to complete the volunteering element.
Our year 11 pupils will leave us this year on 29th June following our Leavers Achievement Assembley. During the week leading up to this they will be taking part in a Leavers Activity Week which will include Ten Pin Bowling, a visit to Crocky Trails, an evening meal at Papa Luigi’s Restaurant in Euxton and a day out at Formby Point in Southport. We are keeping everything crossed that we have a week of sunshine and hope that they all enjoy celebrating the end of their time at Moorhey.
On a Wednesday and Thursday dinnertime we run a senior and primary board games club. Pupils come in to play games like Monopoly, draughts, snakes and ladders and various card games. This is a quiet club for those who like to play and like a competitive game. It teaches the children that it is ok to lose in a safe environment and that we can celebrate even a little win. The children enjoy playing against each other and the staff.
Cooking club is on Mondays after school from 3.15-4.15pm. The children pay £1 a week which covers the cost of the ingredients. They take it in turns to choose what to make. Each year, the number of pupils wishing to attend cooking club increases. Please contact the school office if your son or daughter would like to join us and we will place them on the waiting list if there are no spaces available.
The Summer Holiday Club, August 2017, was again a huge success! The pupils ranged from reception to year 10 and they all enjoyed each other’s company throughout the week.
